My name is Sherine and my spiritual journey started when I was studying in the United States. I was alone, away from the people that I love most but it pushed to look beyond. I started reading a lot and learning about many different topics related to energies, meditation, consciousness and so much more. At 23 years old, after my college tennis career, I found myself searching for something different, that wasn't tennis and that wasn't about performance.
That's when I found yoga. Initially, yoga felt like a challenge. I struggled to be present and often found myself comparing my flexibility and movements to others in the room (the competitor inside of me). But the deeper I went into the practice, the more I realized yoga wasn't about that. Yoga taught me to observe the mind, find balance in life, and live with greater consciousness and awareness.
Yoga is so much more than a physical practice; it's a journey into the self, beyond the mind and body. The only way to truly understand its power is to step onto the mat with an open mind and heart. I'd be honored to guide you on this path and see where it takes you.
Life is not meant to be a cycle of endless suffering. The root of all pain lies in our lack of awareness. When we reconnect with ourselves, life unfolds in its innate beauty. By learning to listen to our inner wisdom—our inner guru—we discover the path to living peacefully. Only you hold the truth of what is right for you, and my hope is to help you recognize your true Self.
Why Seek Within? My purpose is to guide others on their journey of self-discovery, to inspire those who seek something beyond the surface. We are far more than just our minds and bodies; within us lies the vastness of the universe. By turning inward, we begin to uncover our truest potential and embrace the infinite possibilities within.
I had the honor of doing this training at Sat Nam Yoga with Cat Fritz, a wonderful and inspiring Reiki Master Teacher. During the process, I received an energetic attunement that opened up my energy field, allowing me to channel Reiki. I learned the basics of Reiki healing and how to tap into its energy just through intention. Feeling the Reiki energy for the first time was a truly beautiful and profound experience.
At Sat Nam Yoga, under the guidance of the wonderful Cat Fritz, a Reiki Master Teacher, I had the opportunity to deepen my Reiki practice. During this time, I received another attunement, and afterward, I noticed a significant shift in my ability to channel Reiki—it flowed with much more ease and clarity. I learned to fine-tune my healing skills to help others relieve pain or discomfort while also strengthening my own spiritual connection. As this was the Practitioner level, I gained the confidence and knowledge to offer Reiki professionally and discovered how to send Reiki across time and space through distance healing. It was such a powerful and eye-opening experience.
This course was guided by the wonderful Maria McCain, a trauma-informed holistic therapist, master multi-modality healing practitioner, and spiritual educator. To this day, I stay in regular contact with her, as I consider her one of my teachers. I felt called to take this course to understand my soul's purpose on a deeper level. I wanted to explore the contracts, traumas, fears, and energies I may be carrying from past lifetimes, and how they’ve shaped who I am today. I was also eager to learn more about karmic lessons. Throughout the course, I dove into the Akashic Records and the Akashic Realm, uncovering their deeper meaning. I learned the key rules of this sacred space and picked up grounding, energetic clearing, and protection practices to keep my energy balanced. My connection has grown so much, and I now feel more aligned in receiving guidance that feels clear and intuitive. By the end of this course, I learned how to open the Records for myself.
My journey through this training at Yoga View, guided by Claire Mark, Deb Wineman, Tom Quinn, Lane Fenrich, and Quinn Kearney, was a deeply enriching experience. During this time, I explored a wide range of topics, from meditation and the nature of the mind to pranayama, anatomy, the history of modern yoga, Sanskrit, alignment, and sequencing. I gained invaluable skills in organizing and teaching well-rounded, effective classes, and learned to approach asanas in different ways. The hands-on and verbal adjustments techniques I studied truly helped me deepen my understanding of how to guide others in their practice. It was a transformative experience that not only shaped my teaching but also strengthened my personal practice.
At Radiantly Alive, I had the incredible opportunity to learn from world-class teachers who helped me reconnect with my true self and deepen my yoga practice. Under the guidance of the wonderful Kimberley Utama (E-RYT 500), I was guided through daily morning meditation, pranayama, and yoga, helping me rediscover my inner peace. I dove deeper into yoga philosophy with Vijeth, whose knowledge and experience brought so much clarity to my understanding. Bipin Jo, a master from India, taught advanced asanas and shared his profound connection to yoga’s traditions. I explored Ayurveda and mudras with Lucia Monje, an incredibly experienced teacher whose wisdom, gained from years of training, was inspiring. Michael Henry (RYT 450), a physiotherapist, taught anatomy in a way that deepened my understanding of how the body moves in yoga. The four weeks were intense, both physically and emotionally, but they completely transformed my life. Through the challenges and growth, I felt a profound shift within me, as if I had peeled back layers and rediscovered parts of myself I had forgotten. It was a deep spiritual experience that has guided me to a more centered and purposeful way of being.
